or like this?

There is nothing better to get me to stop going to Goodwill or thrifting like all evening episodes of Hoarders on A&E. I cannot fathom the idea of living like this but I understand the idea of getting something with the intention of doing some really cool project only to have it sit for 3 months in my closet.
So, the big question is will some event occur in my life and flip a switch to change me into a hoarder? I'm positive none of the people on the show even said, "Um, I think I want to become a hoarder." I feel truly sorry for the people living like this and hope they can seek help for themselves.
I don't know about you, but I'm not sure I will be thrifting this week.
I'm watching it right now. My heart goes out to these people.
ReplyDeleteThey have a mental illness. Is there a fine line between hoarding and thrifting? Maybe for a small number of people.
okay, I was going to antique shopping tomorrow, but I think I'll stay home and look at my clean house! lol
ReplyDeleteOh my word! I have seen that show and it always makes me sick. I know that I could never be like that because I am too much of an anal clean freak.
ReplyDeleteI find this show so sad. I think these hoarders have some very definite problems. What I don't understand are the people and family that often live with the hoarder and do not do anything about it. How in the world did they let it get like that? I think it is a wake up call to everyone to watch the clutter, keep only what you need, and donate to others what you do not use or need.
