Spring love

Monday was my first encounter with chemo.  It was a little difficult but I made it through with minimal crying.  It was just hard to watch as the nurse had to push the first chemo drug through my IV.  The second chemo drug was hooked up to the iv with a bag.  So, one cycle down and only seven more to go.

I thought today I would share a little spring cheer from around here.   First, I have admired these  from Ballard's for a while but didn't like the price.

I stumbled upon a smaller look a like that was much easier on the pocket book from Hobby Lobby.  I thought it would make a perfect base for my cloche.  All I added was a little spring nest.

The other pieces like this one went onto my mantel.  Here is my simple spring look for this year.

Here it is a little closer.

Closer still.

Don't you just love those little fluffy yellow guys?!

These tulips have helped lift my spirits after being tired from the chemo.  I'm going to share my spring mantel over at:

  6. First off Julie, I want to thank you for your visit and comment over at my blog! I love reading comments! Secondly, your mantel looks adorable all dressed for Spring! So cheery! And, last but most certainly NOT least, you will be in my thoughts and prayers for strength and courage during your chemo and recovery! I am a survivor, and was in the chemo chair myself just a little less than 3 years ago. I had chemo every other week for what wound up being 7 months. It was not fun, but YOU WILL GET THROUGH IT! Be strong, and take good care of yourself. The side effects are the worst part, but the good days keep you going!
Please email me if you have any questions or need anything! Big hugs to you my sister!
