Hot pink delight

Have you ever drafted a post and forgot to post it?  Well, this is one of those.  I have had this project done for a while but guess I just never hit post.  Last fall, I had picked up this desk and chair for $5 at a yard sale.  You have just got to love it when people just want something gone.

It isn't the best quality.  But for a 5 year old, I think it will work just fine.  Unfortunately, the desk had a pretty good musky smell.  I used my BIN oil-based shellac primer to coat inside and out to eliminate the odor.  Yes, I painted every surface, inside and out.  It worked like a charm.

Next, I painted a million layers of the paint to get this hot pink color my daughter picked.  Finally, I polyed it about 5 times on top.  My little angel is an artist.  I wanted to make sure the top could endure her artistic endeavors.  Then to finish it up, I found great knobs at Hobby Lobby.  It is now a hot pink delight.

Here take a closer look at the knobs.  Don't they look like they were made for this desk?

I would love to know what you think.  Drop me a line.  I am sharing over at:
